DP World in San Antonio strengthens container operations with the addition of seven electric tractors
DP World has incorporated seven electric tractors into its multipurpose terminal at the Port of San Antonio, marking the first units of their kind to arrive at a port terminal in the central region. According to Julio Munizaga, engineering maintenance senior manager, these units will bolster container operations, moving 12% of the cargo in the yard. Being 100% electric and powered by renewable energy, they will reduce the carbon footprint by 325 tons of CO2 and decrease noise pollution. The electric tractors are expected to be operational in the first week of June.
