Port Modernization Outpaces Training of Specialized Technicians
The growth of Peruvian foreign trade and port modernization are increasing the demand for specialized technical personnel. Between 2019 and 2024, exports rose from 63 billion to over 74 billion dollars. Ernesto Sarmiento, operations manager at Sarmiento Consultores, warns of a significant gap in specialized technical training, despite accumulated port investments exceeding 11 billion dollars.
