Federal President of Germany and King Willem-Alexander visit the Port of Rotterdam during state visit
German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and King Willem-Alexander visited the Port of Rotterdam on 10 June 2026 during a state visit. The heads of state toured the Porthos CO₂ transport and storage project on the Maasvlakte and visited the Portlantis port experience centre. Discussions focused on cooperation between the Netherlands and Germany in logistics, energy transition, and defence, with emphasis on future infrastructure such as the Delta Rhine Corridor for hydrogen and CO₂.
