Safety dialogues and educational actions mark the program focused on worker health
More than 700 port workers have already participated in the Green April actions at the Port of Paranaguá, an initiative that, for the fifth consecutive year, mobilizes the port community around the promotion of health and safety at work. The campaign, which began on the 1st, reinforces the importance of adopting good practices and collective engagement to build a safer work environment, especially in ship operations, which require a high level of attention.
The campaign's theme in 2026 is "Attitudes that sustain results," highlighting the importance of individual behavior in consolidating the advances already achieved in safety. According to the Health and Safety at Work Manager of the Environmental Directorate, José Sbravatti, the focus is on the active participation of everyone involved in port operations.
"After years of investment in information and training, the current challenge is to strengthen safe attitudes in daily life, ensuring the maintenance of the positive results already obtained," he stated.
As part of the actions, Portos do Paraná, in partnership with the Labor Management Agency (OGMO), has promoted safety dialogues, with guidance on accident prevention, activity analysis, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
"These moments are fundamental to reinforce workers' awareness and highlight the importance of prevention in operational routines," emphasized Cristina Gouveia, OGMO's Health and Safety Coordinator.
In addition to guidance, the campaign also values the recognition of good practices. During educational inspections, workers, service providers, and other professionals who demonstrate safe behavior receive a sticker, which is affixed to their helmets. They also participate in a raffle for a TV at the end of the campaign.
The closing of Green April will feature, as is tradition at the Port of Paranaguá, a special activity on April 30th. For this, a large structure will be set up in front of Palácio Dom Pedro II. Health services, preventive guidance, and vaccination will be offered at the location, in partnership with OGMO, the Paranaguá Health Department, SEST SENAT, and partner companies.
