Whittier Cruise Terminal Dock destroyed by fire in Alaska
A fire destroyed the ~500-foot-long dock at Alaska's Chugach Glacier Gateway Cruise Terminal in Whittier last Monday, with the state fire marshal's office describing the facility as a total loss. The blaze, reported at ~11:00 a.m. and extinguished by ~12:30 p.m. the following day, damaged a high-speed catamaran operated by Phillips Cruises & Tours, though no passengers were aboard. Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Jade was alongside but departed without damage. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
