Ukraine Considers Rail Route to Export Grains Via Moldova
Ukraine is evaluating transporting grains by rail through Moldova to the Romanian port of Constanta as a safer alternative due to Russian attacks on port infrastructure. Kyiv has requested a 50% discount on freight tariffs. Oleg Tofilat, former director of Moldovan Railways, indicated that a corridor could transport 4.5 million metric tons annually, covering 10% of Ukrainian exports.
