Construction Begins on Hybrid-Electric Ferries for Washington State Ferries
Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc. and Washington State Ferries began the construction of three hybrid-electric ferries with a capacity for 160 vehicles in a steel-cutting ceremony held in Florida. The vessels will be delivered in 2030, 2031, and 2032, as part of a fleet modernization program that aims to operate at full capacity on domestic routes.
