The road safety campaign also offers health services for drivers
Between May 27 and 28, TCP, the company that manages the Paranaguá Container Terminal, is carrying out the 'Yellow May' road safety campaign, whose slogan this year is 'In traffic, seeing the other is saving lives.'
The event takes place in the truck classification area (pre-gate) that accesses the Terminal. The campaign's objective is to guide drivers to adopt good practices behind the wheel and make them aware of the need for a more empathetic attitude towards other users of roads and urban streets, always looking out for pedestrians and more vulnerable vehicles.
'Drivers transport cargo from north to south of the country and must face different weather and road conditions. Strengthening a culture of respect for others and adopting good driving practices is fundamental to prevent accidents and to cultivate safer and more supportive traffic for everyone,' explains Kayo Zaiats, Superintendent of Environment, Health, and Occupational Safety at TCP.
In addition to educational actions and activities, drivers have access to health services, such as blood pressure, blood glucose, and heart rate measurements while waiting for the cargo classification process and vehicle inspection.
'TCP receives over a thousand drivers daily, which is why we strive to carry out campaigns like this, promoting the health and well-being of these professionals, who will adopt a more humane and responsible attitude in traffic, becoming multipliers of these good practices,' concludes Zaiats.
