The Port of Manta welcomed the MS Crown Princess cruise ship, from Princess Cruises, for the first time, with 2,840 passengers and 1,132 crew members on board, arriving from Cartagena. The arrival marked the close of the 2025–2026 cruise season and incorporated the Manabí port into the international itineraries of this vessel.
The 288-meter-long vessel, flying the Bermuda flag, is part of a 115-day world tour that began in Auckland, New Zealand. During its first call, the traditional plaque exchange took place between port representatives and the cruise ship's captain, as part of the welcome protocol.
The arrival of the MS Crown Princess contributes to the strengthening of Ecuador's tourism and maritime activity, promoting services associated with cruise operations. The country's participation in international routes favors maritime connectivity and generates opportunities for economic development linked to tourism and logistics services.
