The Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (Inocar) reported that between June 14 and 15, a strengthening of waves will be recorded on the continental and insular coast of Ecuador. The phenomenon will coincide with a period of spring tide, generating rough and very rough sea conditions, so authorities continue to monitor maritime conditions and recommend adopting preventive measures.
According to technical forecasts, the increase in wave energy could cause more intense breaking waves and rip currents in various coastal sectors. These conditions can affect recreational, fishing, and navigation activities, especially for smaller vessels and operators working in areas exposed to waves.
Authorities urged citizens and maritime users to stay informed through official reports and port captaincies. Monitoring these events is relevant for the safety of maritime operations, fishing activity, coastal tourism, and risk management in the country's port and coastal areas.
