In the first quarter of 2026, Ecuadorian mining exports to China registered a growth of 76.8% compared to the same period in 2025, mainly driven by copper concentrate shipments. This result reflects the growing participation of the mining sector in the country's exportable supply.
Copper concentrate led mining exports with USD 622 million, followed by other minerals such as doré gold and gold concentrates. This performance was associated with the production growth of projects such as Mirador and the increase in international copper prices.
This performance reaffirms the importance of the mining sector in Ecuador's exportable supply and its contribution to foreign trade. The growth of these exports also increases the demand for efficient logistics and port services to guarantee the continuous flow of cargo to international markets.
