The Ecuadorian Armed Forces, through the Navy, reinforced surveillance and security operations in Puerto Bolívar. The General Commander of the Navy, Admiral Pablo Pazmiño Manrique, supervised the naval deployment within the framework of the state of emergency in El Oro.
During the day, a maritime patrol was carried out in the Huaylá estuary, and the actions executed by the Puerto Bolívar Port Captaincy, the Southern Coast Guard Subcommand, and Marine Infantry Battalion No. 22 "Jambelí" were verified. The supervision included the evaluation of personnel, facilities, and operational assets.
The strengthening of the naval presence aims to maintain permanent vigilance and improve response capacity in the aquatic areas of institutional responsibility. These actions contribute to generating security conditions for the continuity of commercial and community activities linked to the port environment.
