The National Government presented its strategy to strengthen the agricultural and fishing sectors to representatives of nearly 40 diplomatic missions, highlighting their role in the country's economy and foreign trade. During the meeting, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (MAGP), investment opportunities, international cooperation, and market expansion for Ecuadorian exportable goods were presented.
Authorities noted that the agricultural, agro-industrial, fishing, and aquaculture sectors recorded strong export performance in 2025, driven by products such as bananas, cocoa, shrimp, tuna, flowers, coffee, broccoli, avocado, and processed fruits. The government strategy prioritizes productivity, innovation, sustainability, traceability, and access to new markets, supported by the public policy "Hands for the Field 2025–2034".
The strengthening of these activities contributes to consolidating Ecuador's competitiveness in international trade and diversifying its export offerings. Likewise, the development of the agricultural and fishing sectors generates greater logistical flows, strengthens port and maritime activity, and reinforces the country's integration into global supply chains.
