Carnival Cruise Line continued its nationwide America250 programme on July 2nd, 2026, with patriotic community celebrations aboard Carnival Paradise at Port Tampa Bay and Carnival Elation at the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal in Jacksonville. As an official America250 partner, the cruise line organised the events as part of a series of homeport celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Both events brought together local community organisations, veterans, active-duty military personnel, business representatives and government officials, reflecting Carnival's longstanding relationship with its homeport communities. Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy stated that the celebrations were intended to honour the nation's anniversary, recognise local communities and acknowledge the service of military personnel and first responders.
Guests embarking in Tampa and Jacksonville were welcomed by a 40-foot inflatable patriotic bald eagle displayed on the upper deck of each vessel. In keeping with the company's tradition of recognising military service, dedicated ceremonies honoured serving members of the armed forces, veterans and first responders attending the events. Each military participant received a specially produced limited-edition America250 challenge coin commemorating the anniversary. Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat also appeared in patriotic attire as part of the celebrations.
The Tampa and Jacksonville events form part of Carnival's broader America250 initiative, which has included similar community celebrations in Baltimore and Long Beach. Throughout the summer, guests across the fleet will participate in themed onboard activities, while several Carnival vessels are scheduled to rendezvous at sea for coordinated fireworks displays on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts in celebration of the historic milestone.
