Excel-class ships can now dock at RelaxAway Half Moon Cay for the first time, enabling many more visitors to Carnival Cruise Line's beach destination.
While there are now new complimentary loungers and umbrellas, reservable cabanas and day beds and new and upgraded food and drink venues, Carnival President Christine Duffy said the "crown jewel of this destination is the beautiful turquoise-water beach."
New and upgraded food and drink venues Orchid Beach Grill, Hibiscus Beach Grill, Luna Tide Beach Bar, Stay Awhile Beach Shack and Lil' Tiki Bar offer a variety of island-style meals, full buffets and beverages in shaded, beachfront settings.
A new tram service connects all areas of the island, and the scenic Papaya Pathway offers a walking route for those who prefer to explore on foot.
"Everyone has always loved Half Moon Cay so with the new RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay, we have the ability to bring our ships right to the pier," Duffy said at a ribbon-cutting with other Carnival officials.
Excursion favorites like kayaking, snorkeling and horseback riding on the beach continue to be available.
RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay is part of the Paradise Collection by Carnival, a portfolio of exclusive cruise destinations across the Caribbean and The Bahamas. This follows the recent transformation of Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay) at Roatán, also part of the Paradise Collection.
Currently, 22 ships call at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, providing access for many cruisers sailing from homeports across the US.
