The MSC Magnifica arrived at Warnemünde's P8 cruise terminal on May 29, 2026, to kick off its summer season after completing a comprehensive modernization. The 1,242-cabin vessel underwent a two-month refit at the Palumbo Malta shipyard, where it received significant upgrades to its facilities.

Among the improvements made, the incorporation of the MSC Yacht Club concept stands out, described as a "ship within a ship" offering exclusive luxury service. Additionally, the vessel was equipped with new specialty restaurants and other enhancements to its spaces.
To validate the operation of these new systems, the MSC Magnifica undertook a round-the-world test cruise between January 5 and May 16, 2026, with a brief stop in the Mediterranean. During this voyage, the crew perfected service procedures for the new onboard facilities.
The 2026 summer season begins with an 11-night Baltic Sea cruise, visiting ports such as Gdynia (Gdansk), Klaipeda, and the capitals Riga, Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, and Copenhagen, as well as Aarhus, before resuming its usual itinerary.
The season includes a total of 18 calls, concluding with two additional 11-night itineraries in the Baltic Sea.
Jörg Eichler, Managing Director of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, stated: "We are extremely pleased to celebrate the premiere of the MSC Yacht Club aboard the MSC Magnifica here, in my hometown of Warnemünde. During the round-the-world cruise, from which the ship has just returned, the crew had ample time to practice the procedures and thus be able to inaugurate it with our usual high standards."
According to Eichler, "The demand for the new MSC Yacht Club is very high; we practically have all berths booked, but there are still cabins available on some voyages."
