Collaboration in supply chain development between the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan achieved significant progress through strategic investments that boosted regional trade, before consolidating official recognition of its main managers.
Over the past four years, AD Ports Group finalized investment commitments exceeding USD 789,510,966 in businesses related to maritime transport, ports, and logistics within Kazakh territory.
This economic and industrial alliance included the transport of oil from that nation across the Caspian Sea to western pipelines in Azerbaijan, the co-development of the Sarzha Grain Terminal at Kuryk Port with local partners, and the operation of a logistics joint venture in Central Asia with KTZ Express, the freight unit of Kazakhstan's railways, boosting the Central Corridor land trade route connecting Asia, Central Asia, and Europe with global markets.
As a direct result of this strengthening in mutual commercial and economic cooperation, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, awarded the Managing Director and CEO of AD Ports Group, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, with the Order of Friendship.
The official ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Astana, where this distinction was granted, honoring distinguished individuals, diplomats, and international business leaders who significantly contribute to mutual understanding and collaboration at regional and international levels.
"This recognition reflects the strength of relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan and the success of our shared efforts to advance cooperation in trade and investment. We remain committed, under the wise guidance of our leadership in the UAE, to working with our partners in Kazakhstan to support impactful projects that enhance connectivity and contribute to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan," stated Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi.
