The Colombian Port of Antioquia, located in the Gulf of Urabá, received and served a reefer vessel for the first time. Its call also represents the seventh regular service formally incorporated into the multipurpose terminal.
This was achieved with the docking of the CS Quality, linked to the shipping company Seatrade, at Pier 2. The operation involved the loading of 1,800 pallets, which was recognized as a milestone in the diversification of merchandise transfers at the port facility inaugurated in February 2026.
In this regard, Gilberto Peña, Vice President of Operations for the Port of Antioquia, highlighted that the execution of this maneuver reaffirms the terminal's status as a multipurpose platform.
With the implementation of these services, the port infrastructure expands its technical capacity to optimize cargo flows and improve Colombia's connectivity with international markets.
It is worth noting that the Port of Antioquia has a pier 1,340 meters long with five berthing positions, an operational draft of 16.5 meters suitable for New Panamax type vessels, and a land platform of 38 hectares.
The infrastructure houses container yards, refrigerated warehouses, and specialized areas for bulk, general cargo, and roll-on/roll-off cargo, with an initial capacity close to 7 million tons per year and the possibility of expansion according to demand.
For its part, the CS Quality was launched in 2008 and is registered under the flag of Singapore. The unit has a length of 162 meters, a beam of 26 meters, a capacity of 550 TEU, and a deadweight of 13,059 tons.
