Port of La Paloma: Infrastructure Improvement Works in Uruguay

Various structural improvement works are being carried out at the Port of La Paloma (Uruguay). The works are focused on the construction of workshops and changing rooms for the facility's workers.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, "the project will provide the sector with adequate spaces for the development of activities and improve the working conditions of those who perform tasks at the port."

It was also added that "the construction of showers and sanitary facilities for RV parking is planned to begin in August, a project that also includes the installation of vehicle access barriers and the improvement of adjacent green areas."

"Furthermore, the construction of new premises is in the awarding process, a public tender whose execution is expected to begin within the next two months. Altogether, the works planned for this stage involve an approximate investment of USD 1,277,883," the publication added.

Finally, it was detailed that "these interventions will contribute to optimizing conditions for artisanal fishing and strengthening services and facilities for fishing, sports, and cabotage vessels, as well as for workers, users, and visitors."
