The Port of San Diego has launched a new online vessel schedule system, PortControl, which allows the public to see which ships are entering and leaving the cargo and cruise terminals.
The port operates two maritime cargo terminals and two cruise terminals year-round, with a constant flow of vessels. PortControl's dynamic dashboards allow the public to check the estimated arrival and departure times of cargo ships, as well as a list of ships currently in port.
Additionally, the public can consult the itinerary of upcoming cruises and see which units from a specific cruise line will arrive soon.
"The Port's PortControl tool helps promote safety, transparency, and general awareness of daily maritime activity at the Port of San Diego. While the Port and its tenants use PortControl to support efficient and modern maritime operations, the public can also use the online calendar to better understand which ships are in San Diego Bay and any activity at the Port's terminals. This increased visibility also plays a critical role in preventing conflicts with local maritime events," the Port of San Diego stated in a public announcement.
PortControl is a dynamic dashboard that updates in real-time. Vessel schedules are not exact, and all displayed arrival or departure times are subject to change.
