The Specialized Container Terminal of the Port of La Guaira received the CMA CGM Bali containership for the first time. The vessel's arrival involved the discharge and loading of 1,377 TEU, a figure equivalent to 753 containerized units.
The vessel is 366 meters long, 51 meters wide, and flies the flag of Malta. The unit was built by the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., a process that concluded in 2021.
Bolivariana de Puertos S.A. (Bolipuertos) remarked that "the arrival of this Neo-Panamax category vessel consolidates Venezuela as a key strategic point in the trade routes of the Caribbean and the world."
"The robust infrastructure of the Port of La Guaira reflects a constant process of modernization and adaptation of its primary zone. Thanks to these structural investments, the port has left behind past limitations to safely receive modern ships capable of transporting a high volume of containers. This transformation, supported by cutting-edge technology and latest-generation cranes, maximizes logistical efficiency and boosts the nation's international trade," the company stated.
"For this historic day, heavy machinery operators, stevedores, and security personnel demonstrated their high level of professionalism. Thanks to the continuous training of the workforce, the loading and unloading of 1,377 TEU, equivalent to 753 containers, was carried out, guaranteeing quality services under strict international port security standards," Bolipuertos indicated.
