Asenav officially delivered the Andalué ferry, following work that included repairs and modernizations aimed at strengthening the operation and continuity of the maritime service.
The vessel, which connects Niebla and Corral in the Los Ríos Region, plays a fundamental role in the daily mobility of local communities and the tourist development of the area.
Asenav's development involved an intervention aimed at improving the vessel's performance and reliability, including the complete replacement of its propulsion system by incorporating four new, more powerful engines.
The operation also included deep maintenance of its azimuthal propulsion line systems, optimizing the ferry's operation, maneuverability, and efficiency.
"This project represents much more than maintenance; it is the extension of the useful life of a vessel that connects families, communities, and tourists in our region, where territorial integration is key. We managed to improve the ferry's performance and ensure a more efficient and safer operation for daily use," highlighted Ricardo Contreras, New Projects Manager at Asenav.
The intervention of the Andalué ferry was part of an investment plan promoted by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) through the Directorate of Port Works (DOP). Prior to its delivery, sea trials were conducted in Corral Bay, where significant improvements in critical parameters such as vibration, speed, and noise levels were verified, demonstrating more comfortable behavior of the vessel under real operating conditions.
