China delivered its first domestically built, all-electric river container ship for export in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.
The vessel was built by Shandong New Energy Shipbuilding for CMA CGM and began a final testing phase before its departure for Vietnam.
The ship has a capacity of 182 TEU and was specifically designed for container transport on inland waterways. The vessel is powered by a battery-fed system, allowing for zero emissions.
Following its delivery, it will enter service on a regular route between Binh Duong Province and Cai Mep Port in Vietnam, replacing conventional fuel-powered vessels and providing full-cycle green shipping services.
