Conoship International BV announced the CIP230 TEU container feeder as the latest addition to its portfolio of standard designs for short-sea shipping, built on the proven CIP3800 platform.
The CIP3800 platform has established itself as a reliable basis for efficient short-sea vessels, with over 30 units built worldwide. With the CIP230 TEU container feeder, the series now features a specific design that combines proven performance with specialized cargo handling for containers.
Developed in response to market demand for flexible micro-feeder capacity, the CIP230 TEU offers maximum flexibility for different container sizes, efficient port flow, and excellent fuel consumption.
The vessel is designed for regional container routes, smaller port operations, and short-sea shipping logistics, where reliability, compact dimensions, and quick turnaround times are essential.
Designed with an overall length of 99.93 meters, the CIP230 TEU is engineered to operate below the 100-meter threshold. The vessel features a fully cellular configuration without hatch covers, eliminating that need over the main cargo hold. It has a maximum intake capacity of 230 TEU, or 113 FEU, or 48 45-foot units.
Through a standardized basic design, the engineering framework allows for an optimized construction process with reduced delivery times. The basic design package is available for licensing through Conoship International upon request. This licensing model provides shipowners with the flexibility to contract the construction of the vessels at the shipyard of their choice.
