Port Freeport (United States) welcomed the inaugural call of the Ro-Ro vessel Höegh Sunrise from the Norwegian shipping company Höegh Autoliners. The crew was received by the port administration at docks 1 and 2.
In a statement, Rob Giesecke, Chairman of the Port Freeport Commission, stated that "The inaugural visit reflects the strong relationship Port Freeport has built with Höegh Autoliners over the last decade and their continued trust. On behalf of the Commission, we are proud to celebrate this milestone and the lasting partnership that continues to strengthen our region's economy and support the ongoing growth of international trade."
For her part, Jazmieka Smith, Key Account Manager for Höegh Autoliners, added that "The inaugural visit of the Höegh Sunrise marks another exciting milestone for Höegh Autoliners and reflects the strength of our partnership with Port Freeport. As we continue to introduce our Aurora-class vessels, we are proud to work with partners who invest in the infrastructure and capabilities needed to support the next generation of automotive logistics and more sustainable long-distance maritime transport."
Meanwhile, Phyllis Saathoff, Executive Director and CEO of Port Freeport, indicated that "We are committed to operational excellence and to providing customer-centric service, supporting employment and the communities we serve," the official concluded.
