Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) held an internal presentation on technology and digital transformation (DX) at its headquarters with the aim of showcasing its latest projects in this area. The event was organized to raise the knowledge and interest of all personnel regarding the company's technological development.
The event was attended by over 200 executives and employees, including 17 members of senior management, among them Chairman of the Board, Yukikazu Myochin, and President and CEO, Takenori Igarashi.
During the first half of the meeting, company representatives presented various ongoing strategies, such as the creation of a data platform for sharing information between departments, and the use of advanced digital tools to optimize work efficiency and enhance navigation safety for their vessels.
The second part of the session featured the participation of Hiroshi Nakatani, Executive Vice President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., who attended as a guest lecturer.
In his lecture, Nakatani addressed the transformation of organizations and highlighted the importance of reviewing internal functions to generate value, sharing practical examples of new businesses arising from collaboration between different areas. He also emphasized the need to implement a flexible digital transformation that adapts to the realities of daily work on the ground.
With initiatives such as the strategic use of data and the expansion of generative artificial intelligence, K Line seeks to consolidate its business model. The company plans to continue organizing these internal dissemination spaces to motivate its personnel and accelerate technological modernization at all operational levels.
