At Maersk, we continually review our network to ensure we provide you with the most reliable and consistent service possible.
Following careful evaluation of the ongoing operational challenges at the Port Elizabeth Container Terminal, we will be removing the Port Elizabeth (PLZ) call from our X4A (ASAS) service.
This change is being implemented with immediate effect. Customers with affected bookings will be contacted directly regarding alternative routing arrangements.
Over the past few months, persistent weather disruptions and prolonged berth delays have significantly affected the service schedule. Although we have made every effort to maintain the Port Elizabeth call by introducing additional operational buffers, these challenges continue to impact schedule reliability across the entire service. Rather than facing recurring last-minute omissions and the uncertainty they create, this network adjustment enables us to support improved schedule reliability across the service for your cargo.
We understand that changes like these can affect your planning, and our priority is to make the transition as smooth as possible.
To support your shipments:
We appreciate that network changes can be disruptive, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding. This decision has been made with the long-term goal with the objective of improving schedule reliability and enhancing service consistency for all our customers.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss how this change may affect your shipments, please don't hesitate to reach out to your local Maersk representative or our Customer Experience team. We remain committed to supporting your business and finding the best solutions for your cargo.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.
