Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has informed its customers that the vessel Manxman will remain in dry dock beyond its scheduled in-service date while essential work is carried out. During scheduled maintenance and inspections, additional necessary repairs were identified that will require extra time to complete.
The Ben-my-Chree will continue to cover sailings to Heysham, while the Arrow will return to the island to provide additional capacity for our cargo services during this period. The company is reviewing its operational plans to minimize disruptions as much as possible and will continue to inform customers of any service changes.
"We recognize that this news will be frustrating for many of our customers and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. The dry dock extension is necessary to ensure safety and operational reliability. The completion of these additional works now will ensure that the vessel can continue to provide a reliable and safe service for years to come," stated Isle of Man Steam Packet Company General Manager, Brian Thomson.
