The Mascarona Foundation signed a collaboration agreement with ChileValora. The agreement aims to advance the recognition and certification of workers in the maritime sector.
The signing of the agreement took place during the seminar called "New Cabotage Law: Processes, perspectives and interests in the construction of the regulation" organized by the Mascarona Foundation.
As detailed at the event, the aforementioned agreement seeks to strengthen the training, employability and valorization of strategic trades and functions of national maritime activity, contributing to the development of more formal, secure and recognized career paths for workers.
In this regard, Raquel Mesa, president of the Mascarona Foundation, stated that "the collaboration agreement for the creation of maritime profiles is a milestone, it is something we have been working on for a long time with ChileValora for more than a year to develop these profiles."
"We seek competitiveness, that Chilean workers have access to this certification through this instrument provided by the Ministry of Labor through ChileValora for the recognition of those labor competencies that are often not seen," added Mesa.
In addition, the president of the foundation explained that "when foreign workers enter our country, they bring the same certification that a highly competent Chilean worker has today, but there is nothing to differentiate them."
"We seek to raise the standard of companies so that they can say that their crew has people with labor competencies, not only with an international certificate, but also that they are highly qualified and this places them in a higher category and the worker with better employment possibilities," Mesa concluded.
