The operation began when personnel from the Institution, based on previous investigation tasks and with technological support, were conducting a foot patrol at kilometer 11 of the Paraguay River.
During the patrol, the officers observed two men on horseback carrying bundles in burlap bags. Upon noticing the presence of Coast Guard personnel and receiving a command to stop, the individuals fled into an area of abundant vegetation and abandoned the cargo.
Given this situation, an extensive search was deployed in the sector, with the support of ground vehicles, which allowed for the location of ten bundles containing several packages of drugs.
As a result, it was confirmed that these were 107 heat-sealed packages of marijuana, weighing over 63 kilos and 336 grams, with a value of more than 242 million pesos.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office of Resistencia is involved in the case, which ordered the seizure of the merchandise and the corresponding proceedings. The drugs were secured in the Coast Guard's judicial warehouse, at the disposal of the intervening magistrate.
