The Port of Santos may experience variations in its power supply on the morning of this Tuesday, September 29, due to the movement of the vessel Zhen Hua, which is transporting quay cranes to the DP World terminal. A quay crane is a type of crane that transports containers from the quay to the ships.
The possible instability of the electrical system is due to the scheduled and punctual shutdown of the transmission from the Itatinga Hydroelectric Plant, which will be carried out during the passage of the Zhen Hua. This is a preventive safety measure, due to the height of the vessel's cargo.
The Port will not be without power, because electricity will continue to be supplied by CPFL's distribution system. What may occur are momentary voltage fluctuations.
The vessel Zhen Hua has been docked since the day before yesterday (Sunday, September 27), at pier 34, awaiting a more favorable moment to proceed to DP World, which will occur this morning.
