Representatives from Companhia de Terminais, Portos e Hidrovias do Piauí (Porto Piauí) and the development agency Investe Piauí were received by Portos do Paraná in an institutional visit. The objective is to learn about management and logistics practices that can contribute to the development of the Luís Correia port complex, which is currently under implementation. The agenda includes visits to the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina and the Truck Staging Yard.
The delegation is composed of Raquel Feitosa Carvalho da Silva, Director of Strategic and Infrastructure Projects at Investe Piauí; Wellington Saraiva Vieira de Brito, Logistics Manager at Investe Piauí; Daniel Guimarães Gonçalves, Director of Sustainability at Porto Piauí; and Ana Beatriz da Rocha Vieira, Strategic Planning and Port Development Advisor at Porto Piauí.
The choice of Portos do Paraná considers the national recognition of its management, elected six times as the best in Brazil. For Daniel Gonçalves, the Paraná experience can contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable processes in Piauí.
"We believe that this management can provide us with baselines to help us achieve greater efficiency, more sustainability, and optimization in our processes," details the director.
The delegation was received on Tuesday morning (13), at Palácio Taguaré, headquarters of Portos do Paraná, by the Director of Business Development, Felipe Gama. For him, the visit represents recognition of the work developed by the Paraná Port Authority. The visit continues this Wednesday (14).
"It is a great satisfaction to be receiving yet another Port Authority that comes to learn about our projects and understand how the results we achieve are structured. May they be inspired by some of these fronts for the initial structuring phase they are in at the moment," says the director.
"This crowns the results we have been achieving and that make us recognized as a success story on several fronts," adds Felipe.
Truck Staging Yard is a highlight of the agenda
In addition to learning about the structure and logistical processes, one of the main focuses of the visit is the operation of the Paranaguá Truck Staging Yard. The team seeks to understand the scheduling system and the organization of the flow of trucks arriving at the port.
"We are here to drink from the source of Portos do Paraná's successful experience, in addition to the infrastructure of the Port Complex, how the logistics of the entire port operation works, especially related to the communication of the Truck Staging Yard, which is the next project we will start," highlights Raquel Feitosa.
The Truck Staging Yard has 330,000 square meters and a capacity to receive, on average, 2,500 trucks per day. In 2025, more than 500,000 trucks passed through the site. Portos do Paraná manages the yard, while the Association of Export Corridor Terminals (ATEXP) is responsible for operational control.
"For Porto Piauí, it is very important to understand this relationship between logistical equipment and operation, so that our planning can, in fact, meet operational needs, reducing the impact of port activity on the city and on people's lives. These are the insights we are collecting and that will help us make sustainable and efficient planning," adds Daniel.
