The Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, will be in Manaus (AM) this Thursday (22) to monitor the start of modernization and expansion works at the Manaus Moderna Waterway Terminal. The location is strategic for passenger and cargo transport and for the integration of the Amazonian capital with inland municipalities. The intervention is under the responsibility of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit).
Next, Tomé Franca will visit the Estaleiro Juruá, in Iranduba. The company operates in shipbuilding and the production of structures for waterway infrastructure, such as barges, river pushers, port terminals, and Small Public Port Facilities (IP4). The shipyard is also relevant to the regional economy, generating approximately 3,100 direct jobs.
In the afternoon, the schedule will be at Manaus International Airport, where the minister will visit the airport complex works. These interventions reinforce the Brazilian Government's efforts to improve transport infrastructure in Amazonas, contributing to population mobility and integration between municipalities.
