Corvus Energy has signed a strategic alliance with Belga Marine, a Brazil-based maritime and offshore service provider, to offer specialized local assistance, expert after-sales services for battery systems, and on-site spare parts storage to meet the needs of Brazil's growing fleet of battery-powered offshore support vessels (OSVs).
Brazil is at the center of the global marine energy sector's growth, both in traditional oil and gas projects and emerging renewable energy initiatives, driven by increasing demand for exploration and production, including the expansion of the equatorial margin and the exploration of new deepwater and ultra-deepwater areas.
Tor-Gunnar Hovig, Regional Director for the Americas at Corvus Energy, stated that "as the adoption of battery technology accelerates in the Brazilian offshore sector, reliable local support becomes increasingly important. Thanks to our alliance with Belga Marine, we can combine strong regional service capability with Corvus Energy's global expertise, digital monitoring solutions, predictive analytics, and technical support network. Together, we ensure that customers receive the support they need throughout the lifecycle of their systems."
The country now boasts the largest fleet of oil rig support vessels in its history, with almost 500 vessels in operation and many more planned for the near future. Notably, Petrobras is investing significantly in both the decommissioning of obsolete assets and the renewal of the fleet, with more than 40 new vessels expected to enter service from 2027.
Since 1981, Belga Marine has provided after-sales maintenance and repair services for advanced maritime and offshore equipment, supporting global technology providers and their customers in Brazil for over forty years.
Belga Marine is a trusted provider of maintenance and asset management solutions for a portfolio of advanced marine technologies used aboard vessels and offshore facilities. Specializing in naval electronics, telecommunications, navigation, and automation, the company offers equipment maintenance, inspection, and certification services.
