MSC has expanded its presence in port tugboat services through acquisitions and strategic alliances with companies in the sector. Its business network comprises approximately 1,100 to 1,200 tugboats linked to its operations across five continents.
The expansion includes MedTug, the alliance with Boluda Towage, and the acquisition of control of Wilson Sons in Brazil. These operations strengthen MSC's involvement in supporting vessels during their entry, docking, and departure maneuvers from ports.
With this strategy, MSC expands its activities beyond container transport and strengthens its presence in maritime and port services. The expansion also allows the group to participate in various points of the logistics chain and improve the coordination of its operations.
