Guayaquil hosted the second Secure Cargo Subcommittee, developed within the framework of the SERPAZ program and co-financed by the European Union, where representatives from the public, private, port, and logistics sectors analyzed actions to strengthen the security of the Ecuadorian export chain. The event also brought together members of the European Union Delegation in Ecuador and stakeholders involved in foreign trade.
During the meeting, progress and results achieved by the Secure Cargo component in 2025 were presented, as well as preliminary findings related to gaps and opportunities to strengthen logistics protocols and improve export traceability. Future actions aimed at reinforcing coordination between institutions and operators in the logistics chain were also addressed.
The event also facilitated dialogue and feedback spaces among exporters, port operators, associations, and public institutions, with the aim of consolidating articulation and security mechanisms in Ecuadorian foreign trade. In this context, the participation of the Ecuadorian Maritime Chamber, represented by its Executive Director, Vice Admiral Milton Lalama, reinforced the importance of promoting coordinated actions to strengthen the country's logistical competitiveness and raise security standards in export operations.
