The Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor), together with productive sector guilds, presented the Shipping Barometer on August 19 in Guayaquil, a tool to evaluate the quality, availability, and transparency of maritime transport in Ecuador.
The platform will collect information from exporting companies on service compliance, availability of refrigerated containers, costs, port operations, and inspections. The measurement will progressively cover sectors that represent 95% of the exportable supply.
The results will allow identifying opportunities for improvement in the logistics chain and provide information for the development of port and road infrastructure. The initiative is being developed in a context of growth in foreign trade and increased demand for efficient logistics services.
