Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Total general traffic at the Port of the Bay of Cadiz reached 3,876,729 tons by August, which represents a 12.02 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the type of merchandise presentation, solid bulk, with 1,575,735 tons and an increase of 46.84 percent compared to August 2025, is the group with the highest percentage growth and maintains its upward trend of recent months.
Liquid bulk, on the other hand, with 572,072 tons, decreased by 14.04 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
General merchandise already exceeds one and a half million tons, specifically, it accumulates 1,622,935 tons, a 0.57 percent less than up to the same dates in 2025.
Bunkering increased by 22.58 percent by August, accumulating 98,191 tons.
Fresh fish, with 6,719 tons and a sales value of 29,945,308 euros, shows a decrease of 19.66 percent and 12.8 percent respectively.
Regarding the mode of transport, rolling cargo traffic with the Canary Islands has reached 636,793 tons so far this year, representing an increase of 4.53 percent.
For its part, container traffic (LoLo) totals 924,027 tons, 3.16 percent less than up to August 2025. It increased in the number of containers by 0.55 percent (124,720) and decreased slightly in TEUs (63,503), by 0.31 percent.
The behavior of passenger traffic associated with the line connecting Cadiz and the peninsula with the Canary Islands is close to 30,000 passengers (29,408), 3.15 percent less than in the same period last year.
Finally, cruise traffic shows particularly positive growth, totaling 218 calls by August, 15.34 percent more than on the same dates last year, when the number of calls by August was 189, and 410,024 cruise passengers, 18.79 percent more than up to August 2025.
