The Smart Ports Chair of the Universitat Jaume I will once again bring together the main actors of the Spanish port ecosystem in the third edition of its annual conference, thus fulfilling one of its main purposes: to be a link between public and private entities linked to the field of smart ports.
Under the motto 'Smart Ports in Action: Building the Ports of the Future', the III Smart Ports Chair Conference will be held on November 5, at the Port of Castellón. Organized by the Smart Ports Chair of the Universitat Jaume I, the Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón and the Fundación PortCastellón, with the support of Puertos del Estado and the sponsorship of GMV, the event will bring together professionals from companies and public entities from all over Spain who will be able to learn about the latest developments in the digital transformation process of the country's ports towards more efficient and sustainable ports.
The definitive program and the list of participating speakers will be available shortly on the website www.catedrasmartports.uji.es. In this regard, as the director of the Smart Ports Chair, Francisco Toledo, anticipates, "as in the two previous editions of the conference, we will give prominence to several technological innovation projects that participate in the Ports 4.0 Program of Puertos del Estado.
We will also address the preliminary results of the self-assessment that the ports participating in the Smart Ports Chair Think Tank have carried out to determine their current status as smart ports. This analysis has been carried out by the six working groups based on the 160 items established in the six areas of action of the UNE 178110 standard on smart ports." In addition, the program will include various interventions by the president of the Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez, along with representatives of Puertos del Estado and collaborating entities of the Chair.
