As Carnival Freedom prepares to return to service following a 35-day dry dock at Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseille, France, the ship is debuting a new whale tail funnel, expanded casino and additional upgrades. Additionally, Carnival has opened reservations for the ship's new 2028/2029 season. The new itineraries depart from Norfolk, Virginia through April 2029 and feature six- to eight-day sailings to The Bahamas, Bermuda, the Eastern Caribbean and Canada, with visits to Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and more.
Carnival Freedom's new whale tail funnel features a lower height to allow access to additional ports. During the dry dock, the ship also received several enhancements to the onboard experience, including a redesigned casino with more than 100 additional gaming machines, a refreshed video arcade, updated retail spaces and accessibility improvements throughout the ship. Freedom also now showcases Carnival's new "From Sea to Shining Sea" bow crest, celebrating the line's position as America's cruise line.
Carnival Freedom will arrive to Barcelona, Spain, on Oct. 9 and will welcome guests aboard for an 8-day Mediterranean cruise before going on a 13-day Carnival Journeys transatlantic voyage. She will arrive in Port Canaveral on Oct. 30, where she will homeport through May 2027, before repositioning to Norfolk, Virginia.
