The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced the programme for its 2027 RiverView Conference, which will mark the event's 15th anniversary with a 2-night sailing linking 3 of the Danube's principal capitals.
The conference will take place from March 5th to 8th, with delegates travelling aboard one of three river ships, AmaSofia, Riviera Radiance or VIVA TWO, on a 2-night itinerary from Budapest to Vienna.
The programme will include onboard accommodation, breakfast, dinner and entertainment, while delegates will also have the opportunity to visit the other two vessels during an onboard lunch and a final overnight stay in Vienna.
Vienna will serve as the main conference venue, hosting a programme of business sessions and ship inspections. Delegates will be able to tour vessels operated by Avalon Waterways, TUI, Scenic and Riverside.
The 2027 edition will introduce Bratislava, Slovakia, as a new port of call. The city will host a networking trade fair and offer delegates opportunities to participate in local excursions.
CLIA has also introduced a new Lite registration option for delegates seeking a shorter programme. Running from March 6th to 8th and based in Vienna, the package will include the business sessions, overnight stays aboard TUI River Cruises and Avalon Waterways, lunch on Scenic, a supplier networking afternoon and access to a selection of participating river ships.
CLIA UK & Ireland managing director Andy Harmer said the 15th anniversary would provide an opportunity to demonstrate the operational and destination aspects of river cruising through a programme combining shipboard experience, port calls, business sessions and industry networking. He added that the new Lite option was intended to make the event accessible to a wider group of travel agents.
The 2027 RiverView Conference will therefore combine a conventional trade conference format with practical exposure to river cruising operations, using the Danube and its capital cities as the setting for the anniversary edition.
