Cordelia Cruises will begin the inaugural Indian season of Cordelia Sky from Mumbai on October 23rd, 2026. The 1999-built vessel, previously operated by NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line as Norwegian Sky, will expand Cordelia Cruises' capacity in the Indian market with itineraries ranging from short domestic voyages to longer cruises linking India with Southeast Asia.
The ship will initially operate 2- to 5-night cruises from Mumbai, including itineraries to Goa and Lakshadweep. The programme will subsequently include 7-night Southeast Asia voyages departing from Chennai and visiting destinations such as Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. A corresponding itinerary will operate in the opposite direction from Singapore to Chennai.
The introduction of Cordelia Sky increases the operator's capacity ahead of the planned addition of another former Norwegian Cruise Line vessel in 2027.
The ship has 1,002 staterooms across several accommodation categories, comprising 429 Interior staterooms, 313 Ocean View staterooms, 245 Mini Suites, 11 Penthouse Suites and four Chairman's Suites. Mini Suites provide additional living space and private balconies, while the Chairman's Suites feature separate living, dining and bedroom areas, along with private balconies equipped with hot tubs. Butler and concierge services are also available in the highest accommodation category.
Dining facilities are distributed across 10 venues, offering a range of cuisines and dining styles. Options include regional Indian dishes, sushi, Italian cuisine, vegetarian and Jain selections, as well as buffet dining.
Entertainment will be centred on the 930-seat Marquee Theatre, which will host a main production show as well as other productions and variety performances. Additional live music, games, activities and entertainment will be presented at venues throughout the ship.
Outdoor facilities include pickleball and cricket areas, while gaming spaces are also available onboard. The pool deck features two swimming pools and five hot tubs, with more than 30,000 square feet of open deck space.
Other facilities include 11 bars and lounges, a fitness centre, spa and dedicated areas for children and teenagers. Supervised activities will also be available for younger passengers.
Originally launched as Norwegian Sky in 1999, the ship spent more than two decades operating with Norwegian Cruise Line before transferring to Cordelia Cruises and being renamed Cordelia Sky.
The vessel is expected to be followed into the Indian market by Norwegian Sun, which will join Cordelia Cruises as Cordelia Sun. The ship is scheduled to begin operating itineraries in India in late 2027.
