Shandong Port Group's (SPG's) Yantai Port has strengthened its shipping links with West Africa by launching a new breakbulk cargo route to Senegal, creating new opportunities for Chinese machinery exports.
The vessel Ocean Treasure recently departed Yantai Port carrying 333 engineering vehicles bound for Senegal, underscoring the port's efforts to expand its breakbulk shipping network and connect Chinese manufacturers with overseas markets.
Yantai Port developed this integrated logistics service in collaboration with machinery manufacturers, shipping companies, and relevant port authorities, covering the entire process from cargo collection and storage to customs clearance, loading, and shipping, offering customers a seamless connection between production facilities and international destinations.
To ensure smooth operations, the port arranged dedicated storage areas, optimized transport links, and coordinated loading procedures in advance. The latest operation handled 9,729 cubic meters of cargo in 24 hours, with a loading rate of 147 cubic meters per hour — a new record for similar machinery shipments at the port.
By expanding shipping capacity and improving logistics efficiency, Yantai Port is helping Chinese manufacturers reach global markets more efficiently and strengthening trade links between China and West Africa.
