Following the recent improvement in water levels and operational conditions on the Rhine River, we are pleased to inform you that barge operations to and from Bonn Inland Terminal can resume, and the temporary contingency arrangements are no longer required.
This advisory replaces our previous communication, "Bonn Inland Terminal Service Disruption Due to Low Water Conditions", published on 12 August 2026, which introduced the temporary contingency measures for cargo moving via Bonn Inland Terminal.
Effective 27 October 2026, the temporary Landside Contingency Surcharge will no longer apply.

-Import and export cargo moving via Bonn Inland Terminal, including inland origins and destinations served through Bonn.
Please note that low water conditions continue to affect barge transportation on the Rhine. The Low Water Surcharge (LWS) therefore remains applicable in accordance with Maersk's previously published Rhine River – Low Water Surcharge & Benelux update.
We will continue to monitor water levels and operational conditions closely and will provide further updates should the situation change.
Should you have any questions, please contact your local Maersk representative or visit our website for the latest updates.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
