Earlier this year, Disney announced the name of its newest Wish-class ship, Disney Believe, in an emotional video that tugged at heartstrings. The video showcased clips from beloved Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars movies like "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Tangled," "Inside Out," "Guardians of the Galaxy," and more. Now Disney has revealed more about the ship set to debut in 2027.
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney Cruise Line shared another big announcement about the Disney Believe during the Horizons: A Carousel of Progress Disney Experiences Showcase.
The first big reveal came with the Grand Hall statue, which will feature Moana and her lovable sidekicks, Pua and Heihei. These bronze statues are a staple on all Disney Cruise Line ships, with other variants including Black Panther on the Disney Destiny and Admiral Donald Duck on the Disney Dream. Around the Grand Hall's staircase and fourth- and fifth-deck railways, there will also be an island motif with waves etched into the glass.
Disney is also known for its creative stern characters. On the Disney Believe, the beloved duo, Buzz Lightyear and Woody from the "Toy Story" franchise, will appear. This is the first time Pixar characters will be featured as a stern character on a Disney Cruise Line ship.
It's also a fun detail that Buzz and Woody have yellow crayons in their hands, looking like they are coloring the ship's name right onto the "Monica blue" stern. The typography of the ship's name also references the fun block lettering from the "Toy Story" movies.
Across the front of the ship, Disney traditionally features another character, though this time just painted on rather than a big three-dimensional figure. On the Disney Believe, the bow of the ship will be decorated with a sprinkle of pixie dust and a hand-painted filigree of Tinker Bell from the 1953 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic, "Peter Pan." Coming from either side of the spunky fairy, eagle-eyed fans can also spot other characters from Peter Pan, including Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, Michael, John, and Wendy, and of course, Peter Pan.
"This ship celebrates belief in magic, family, the power of nature, and belief in yourself," said Claire Weiss, Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering. "And all the stories we tell onboard will be tied together by the core Disney notion of believing in something fantastical."
On October 7, 2026, we will learn more about what's coming to Disney Believe when Disney Cruise Line hosts a live reveal event. Even better, anyone around the world will be able to tune in via livestream.
