BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 7, 2026) — Disney Cruise Line and Port Everglades announced today that the Disney Believe will homeport in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., beginning in December 2027, expanding Disney Cruise Line's South Florida operations and bringing the Disney Believe's signature entertainment, dining and storytelling to even more families.
On December 18, 2027, the Disney Believe will sail its maiden voyage from Port Everglades, offering four- and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and Caribbean. Inspired by courageous Disney characters who believe in themselves, in their dreams, and in the promise and possibility of new horizons, the Disney Believe will introduce brand-new, can't-miss experiences. These experiences include the world's first stage adaptation of Walt Disney Animation Studios "Encanto," a family dining venue that expands the "Frozen" universe with an all-new setting and experience, and a Grand Hall inspired by the vibrant world where the sky meets the sea from "Moana."
"Port Everglades is an important home for Disney Cruise Line, and we're honored to deepen our longstanding relationship as we welcome the Disney Believe to Fort Lauderdale," said Tracy Wilson, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line Operations. "As our fleet continues to expand, we look forward to bringing even more families the opportunity to experience the magic of a Disney vacation at sea and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime."
With more than 5 million passengers annually, Port Everglades is one of the world's busiest cruise ports and a leading gateway to South Florida, providing access to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Greater Fort Lauderdale's restaurants, beaches and attractions. Disney Cruise Line's dedicated terminal at Port Everglades enhances the guest experience while reinforcing the port's position as a premier cruise destination.
The addition of the Disney Believe builds on Disney Cruise Line's 15-year agreement with Port Everglades and will help grow tourism and economic activity throughout Broward County, supporting local businesses, jobs and the hospitality industry.
"Disney Cruise Line selecting Port Everglades as the homeport for its second new ship is an excellent outcome of our strong relationship," said Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Director of Port Everglades. "As a service to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, the port continues to be just as committed to working collaboratively to create excellent guest and client experiences as we are to developing the supportive ecosystems that ensure such smooth sailings."
The expanded homeport presence also advances Disney Cruise Line's commitment to South Florida. Through Disney VoluntEARS service, charitable giving and local collaborations, Disney Cruise Line will continue supporting community organizations focused on youth, education, wish-granting, environmental conservation and other priorities that benefit families and communities across Broward County.
Disney Cruise Line's continued growth at Port Everglades is part of the cruise line's broader expansion. Recent developments include an agreement with the Port of San Diego that will approximately double annual Disney sailings from San Diego through at least 2031. Disney Cruise Line also recently announced its return to New York City for the first time since 2023, with the Disney Wish scheduled to sail seven special voyages from New York in fall 2027.
Additional details about onboard experiences, itineraries and community collaborations will be shared closer to the ship's arrival at Port Everglades. Guests can book a Disney Believe cruise at disneycruise.com or through their preferred travel agent. Bookings for the public begin Oct. 19, 2026.
