HX Expeditions launched its 2028/29 season worldwide with 57 voyages, including 26 new itineraries, to 1,288 ports in 14 destinations.
HX hosted a luncheon at the Royal Motor Yacht Club on the waterfront of Sydney's Point Piper to give media a preview of the company's latest offerings.
Shannon Davis, senior marketing manager Australia and New Zealand, said there are shorter eight-day itineraries for people who want to take an expedition cruise but are time poor. There is an eight-day "Discovering West Greenland — Icebergs & Communities of Disko Bay" round cruise from Nuuk, with passengers to meet communities along Greenland's west coast to gain insight into everyday Arctic life and local traditions.
There are also two eight-day "Inside Passage" Alaska expeditions, sailing northbound and southbound between Vancouver and Sitka. They can be combined into a 15-day Vancouver-to-Vancouver expedition, without repeating a port.
A new 19-day "Antarctica & South Georgia" voyage aboard Roald Amundsen has been created to make one of HX's most sought-after polar experiences more accessible.
Combining Antarctica and South Georgia into a single expedition reduces travel time, but with the same in-depth immersion.
Additionally, HX will use the Falkland Islands as a gateway to Antarctica, with "In-Depth Antarctica, Falklands and South Georgia" voyages starting in Stanley.
Building on more than 130 years of exploration in Scandinavia, HX is expanding its regional offering aboard Spitsbergen.
The headline itinerary is the 13-day "Sweden & Finland: Autumn in the Gulf of Bothnia," chalking up HX's first voyage into the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia.
There is also a 10-day "Southern Scandinavia: Between Norwegian Fjords and Swedish Isles" voyage exploring Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
One of HX's most ambitious expeditions will be the 19-day "Into the Northwest Passage — Circumnavigating Baffin Island" on board Roald Amundsen.
Entering the Northwest Passage, the ship will attempt to transit the Fury and Hecia Strait, a route rarely navigated by expedition vessels.
From the steep glaciated fjords of eastern Baffin Island to the narrow ice channels of the High Arctic and the remote waters of Foxe Basin, the itinerary showcases some of Arctic Canada's most diverse landscapes.
HX will operate 23 departures to Svalbard, its most extensive programme in the archipelago. The season stretches from the height of the midnight sun through to September when darker nights return and offer the possibility of Northern Lights sightings.
For passengers who enjoy life at sea, there are nine new ocean crossings, enriched by onboard lectures, workshops, wildlife watching and opportunities to connect with the expedition team.
Spanning the Atlantic and Pacific, ports include Bermuda, Cape Verde, Salvador, Recife and Golfito.
There are several crossings of the equator, taking passengers between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres as they sail between expedition regions.
To celebrate the launch, there is a 5% discount on cabins and 10% discount on suites booked from September 15 to December 3 this year for selected departures between April 1, 2028 and March 31, 2029.
