Marella Cruises added Patras to its summer 2028 programme. A new port of call for the cruise line, Greece's third largest city forms part of Marella Explorer's new 'Grecian Gems' itinerary sailing from Corfu, Greece. Operations start July 2028 with the port offering access to historical landmarks, including the Church of St Andrew and views across the Gulf of Patras.
Chris Hackney, CEO at Marella Cruises, said: "We're always looking for opportunities to offer customers new destinations and Patras is an exciting addition to our programme. Alongside new itineraries and expanded cruise and stay options, summer 2028 will give customers even more choice when planning their next cruise."
Summer 2028 includes six new itineraries. Adults-only vessel Marella Explorer 2 will operate the new seven-night 'Spanish Shores' programme from Malaga, Spain, starting June 2028. The sailing includes stops at Gibraltar, Ibiza Town, Mahon in Menorca, Palma in Majorca and Cartagena.
Four new repositioning cruises will operate from April 2028. 'Sail into Spring' aboard Marella Explorer includes two options: a 10-night sailing from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to Corfu and an 11-night sailing from Santa Cruz, Tenerife to Corfu. 'Flavours of the Mediterranean' aboard Marella Discovery 2 provides a five-night journey from Palma to Dubrovnik.
'Transatlantic Treasures' aboard Marella Explorer 2 covers 13 nights from Barbados to Malaga, whilst 'Atlantic Horizons' aboard Marella Voyager operates 13 nights from Barbados to Palma. These repositioning cruises will feature guest speakers, additional shows and tribute acts.
The remaining fleet will homeport from European ports including Marella Discovery and Marella Voyager in Palma, Majorca, and Marella Discovery 2 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Additionally, Marella expanded its cruise and stay programme, offering 119 hotels across Majorca, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Malaga, operating from 22 airports across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Hackney concluded: "We're building on the continued popularity of our core homeports for summer 2028. Demand for our Eastern Mediterranean cruises remains strong, with summer 2027 already ahead of last year. We're also returning to Malaga for another summer season following the success of previous sailings from the region."
All summer sailings go on sale from October 15, 2026, with prices starting from £1,966 for the 'Grecian Gems' summer 2028 itineraries.
