RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced an extensive accommodation enhancement programme for its Explorer Class vessels that will introduce larger suites, add a new suite category and reduce overall guest capacity in a move designed to further strengthen the line's ultra-luxury positioning.
Following scheduled dry docks in 2027 and 2028, Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor and Seven Seas Grandeur will each carry a maximum of 344 suites, down from the current 373, with 29 suites removed from each vessel to create more spacious accommodations and increase the amount of personal space available to guests.
As part of the refurbishment programme, Regent will enlarge its Veranda Suites, creating what the company describes as the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury cruise sector, alongside the Deluxe Veranda Suites introduced on the new Prestige Class ships. The redesigned Veranda Suites will increase in size from 307 square feet to between 415 and 464 square feet and will feature walk-in wardrobes, double vanities and larger private balconies.
Regent stated that the refurbishment reflects its long-term strategy of continually enhancing the onboard experience by increasing accommodation space, introducing new suite categories and maintaining the high service standards associated with the brand.
The project will also see the introduction of the Horizon Penthouse Suite to the Explorer Class fleet. First unveiled aboard the forthcoming Seven Seas Prestige, the new suite category will range from 616 to 722 square feet and will feature oversized balconies, separate living areas, spacious bedrooms and full bathrooms designed to combine indoor comfort with enhanced outdoor living.
In addition, each ship will receive three new signature accommodations measuring between 821 and 918 square feet. Named the Explorer Suite, Splendor Suite and Grandeur Suite respectively, these premium suites will include king-size Elite Slumber beds, separate sitting and dining areas, one-and-a-half marble-appointed bathrooms, expansive private balconies and a range of luxury amenities, including in-suite caviar service, cashmere blankets, fresh orchid arrangements, a choice of pillows and dedicated butler service.
The refurbishment programme will begin with Seven Seas Splendor, which is scheduled to enter dry dock in November 2027. Seven Seas Explorer will follow in April 2028, while Seven Seas Grandeur is scheduled for refurbishment in October 2028.
