The Starlight Atrium installation was created with Preciosa Lighting, based in the Czech Republic's Crystal Valley, the birthplace of Bohemian glassmaking.
When Seven Seas Prestige debuts in December, the Starlight Atrium wiill be illuminated by an installation created by Preciosa Lighting and interior designer Studio DADO.
Rising through 11 decks, the striking, contemporary interpretation of a traditional chandelier will also serve as the centerpiece for Lumière, Regent Seven Seas Cruises' first sound and light show, to become a nightly pre-dinner ritual.
"With Seven Seas Prestige being Regent's first new ship class in 10 years, we wanted to create something extraordinary ... This magnificent installation, which is truly a work of art, has been crafted in a centuries-old tradition and brought to life through the wonders of modern technology and engineering," Regent President Wesley D'Silva said.
The installation was created with crystal house Preciosa Lighting, a long-time Regent partner, and Studio DADO, the design force behind the Explorer-class ships and Seven Seas Prestige. Preciosa is based in the Czech Republic's Crystal Valley, the birthplace of Bohemian glassmaking for centuries.
The Seven Seas Prestige installation, assembled from more than 300 hand-crafted crystal rods, can be dynamically programmed to create multiple moods and effects at different times of the day for an ever-changing experience.
Taking place nightly at 6:25 p.m., Lumière will transforms the Starlight Atrium into a stage for a choreographed display of light and music, creating a memorable moment for travelers to anticipate, experience and share.
It is designed to be viewed from every level of the Starlight Atrium.
Travelers will be invited to a glass of Champagne at Galileo's Bar while taking in what is expected to become a signature Regent ritual.
